OUR HISTORY

The Berachah Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER), formerly known as Himachal Bible College, was founded in 2004 by Dr. Sam Abraham and the Berachah Church of God. The school initially trained twelve students in Himachal Pradesh, then expanded to Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir. In 2006, land was acquired for the Berachah Church of God in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, and construction began in 2008. The college was renamed Himachal Bible College & Seminary in 2016, and in 2015, it pursued accreditation to better meet student needs. In 2018, the Asian Theological Association granted the college a Degree of Incorporation, and in 2023, Martin Luther Christian University accredited one undergraduate and graduate program. Effective March 14, 2024, Himachal Bible College and Seminary was renamed as Berachah Institute of Higher Education and Research to enhance its global impact on research and equip individuals for effective service through advanced teaching strategies.
